"Two thirds of children 'not getting enough sleep'."

In this article, studies that actually prove that this generation of children are not getting enough sleep and not performing their best in thier studies in school. The expected home routine for bed time should include the following... A strict set bed time, a limited time for video games, family talk dinner, an hour or so of down time like homework tv or a movie. In earlier generations when children didn't have tvs in their rooms parents would read bedtime stories to put them to sleep. An average time for a healthy nights sleep for children should be nine thirty at night. The children of this generation school night routine include, hours of video games and tv and go to bed around elleven at night. The teenagers of this generation go to sleep around mindnight on a daily basis, and their routine include internet surffing, video games, texing, and watching tv for endless hours."Pre-bedtime activity is turning British Children into living zombies" says researchers. Teachers have been noticing their students behavior. Their behavior is lack of paying attention during classes and sleeping at least once a class every week. A servey taken from 250 teachers and they all have noticed this behavior in their students. Teachers have noticed a great increase of children being diagnosed with depression. In young school children that are sleep deprived actually tend to be more hyper and irritated over little things, most doctors have mistaken sleep deprivion for ADHD. The children are not feeling up to speed and actually become depressed, this is on the rise. They say that not only good behavior is the result of a good nights sleep but also what the child eats before bedtime and how relaxed the environment is.Some say the caffeine consumption has a great effect on the nights sleep, depending on when you consume it. Teens are confusing their bodies by drinking coffee to keep them selves going to keep them awake when really all they need is a good nights rest and they'll feel the same result. Another study out of two thousand children says that only one third of them are getting a good nights sleep. That's to low of a statistic! An average taken of a normal nights sleep for children is a solid seven and a half hours of sleep, a good nights sleep is nine hours to feel fully rested. In another statistic they say as they generations are modernizing we are losing consistently thirty seven minutes of recommended  sleep. wc=418
